Greg McDonald is a journalist who has had an interest in numismatics since childhood, he writes a monthly newsletter and has contributed articles to the Australian Coin and Banknote Magazine and the Sydney Morning Herald. Greg McDonald also conducts a mail order business. His pocket guides are very popular amongst collectors and dealers alike.
Greg privately prints and publishes these guides as well as a newsletter for his coin dealership.

This edition was plagued with problems from the start (unlucky 13), Greg changed his software, but a lot of information got corrupted in the transfer. It was quite a rush job to get it out on time.
Personally I found it very difficult and confusing to use. To be honest, I don't use it, still carry around the 12th Edition.
The work done on decimals has continued to improve slowly and hopefully with Wayne Roberts tireless efforts it will continue to do so.
If you are a new collector it may be better to chase one of the older editions, these are a lot easier to understand. I highly recommend the ones on how to collect towards the bottom of this page.
Greg is working towards making future editions an improvement.

There are some back issues available directly from Greg McDonald by contacting directly via the address above, very useful for seeing which issues have gone up and which have crashed and burned.
If you ever obtain the 5th Edition, you will note the spine says Fourth Edition, another quite useless fact is the growth in thickness every year as the market gets flooded with more and more NCLT. It will be interesting to see just how much longer it can remain "The Pocket Guide"
