There are comprehensive list and pictures with detailed research and even variety lists. Available from most coin dealers.
	The Sovereign 1st Edition Daniel Fearon & Brian Reeds 2001 Hilden Publications 17 Windmill Drive Croxley Green Hertfordshire Token Publishing ISBN 1 874371 14 8 Not so much a reference on sovereigns but more of a sales brochure, this book is still very enjoyable. A good introduction to sovereigns and their history but not the best reference. Available from most coin dealers.

A New History of the Royal Mint 1st Edition C E Challis 1992 Cambridge University Press The Pitt Building Trumington St Cambridge CB2 1RP ISBN 0 521 24026 3 I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is easy to read and thoroughly engrossing, no matter what your interests, this book is a must read !
	Royal Sovereign 1489 - 1989 1st Edition G P Dyer 1989 The Royal Mint Zenith Print Group Treforest ISBN 1 869917 03 0 This is an interesting book. The editor, Mr Dyer worked as the librarian and curator of the Royal Mint and drew together some of the best numismatic authors for this book. The names include John Sharples, Curator of Numismatics at the Museum of Victoria, Christopher Challis, leading reader of Modern History and John Porteous, who's early book was described as the best single volume ever written on coins.

It also contains a handy little world gold coin list detailing purities, weights and gold content and a few other handy little tables. Can sometimes be picked up from coin dealers.

This coin has a notice from the "Times" 1890 pasted in, which declares the de-monetising of the pre-Victorian gold coinage.
