In recognition of those who served their country in five major international conflicts of the 20th century, The Perth Mint released the Australians at War Coin and Medallion Tribute Series. This significant project was developed over a two-year period with the support and cooperation of the Australian War Memorial, the Commonwealth Departments of Veterans’ Affairs and Defence, and the Returned & Services League of Australia.The Boer War

At the heart of this magnificent series are five 2003 Australian Kookaburra coins struck from two ounces of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, each coin features a striking depiction of a kookaburra, as well as a coloured privy mark representation of a service medal awarded to personnel who served their country.
The series also includes miniature replicas of the five service medals and five medallions struck from one ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Featuring images of people and scenes associated with one of the five conflicts on the reverse.

No more than 2,500 Complete Collections, comprising the five silver privy mark coins, five miniature replica service medals and five remarkable medallions in the series, will be released by The Perth Mint.
