The 1992 one dollar coin commemorates the 25th Olympiad in the Spanish city of Barcelona and also honours the achievements of Australia's sporting women. The javelin thrower on the coin's reverse is the first woman other than the Queen and the Princess of Wales to appear on an Australian coin. Designed by Perth artist Margaret Priest, the coin was modeled by Mint engraver, Wojciech Pietranik. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
