| This pack was struck as a special tribute to Sir Donald Bradman who gained international recognition for his cricketing prowess over a career spanning the mid 1920's to the late 1940's. This coin has the same design as that used on the bi-metal coin struck in 1996 - the only difference being the date on the obverse. | |||||||||||||

The coin, not intended for circulation, was distributed as part of this pack and is not available as an individually issued coin. A total of 275,000 packs consisting of a specimen quality 1997 Bradman bi-metal five dollar coin and two 45 cent Bradman Postage Stamps were jointly issued by Australia Post and the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra on 23rd January, 1997. |
