The 1960 shilling, as with the 1961 issue has a variety, some of the coins have a small bar (or "I") in the bottom fold of wool under the ram's chin.
Although it would seem this is very rare, yet to find a collector who has seen one.

Collectors should consider aquiring most of the Queen Elizabeth II series in Gem coins, these are still affordable with the greatest possible upside. Coins Extra Fine and below are considered little more than bullion coins.
When looking at the Mary Gillick obverse the points to look at are:
  • The Queen's shoulder,
  • The hair,
  • The whole coin should be considered when grading including lustre, the fields, denticles and rim condition.
  • A weak strike shows in the lack of definition in the shoulder, hair, wreath and the back of the eye.
