This issue by the Royal Australian Mint celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the introduction of the $1 coin in 1984 to replace the extremely short lived currency note of the same denomination. The changeover was rapid and the note, while still legal tender, very quickly disappeared.

Intricately frosted against a mirror-finish background the $1 Sterling Silver Proof Coin details a $1 Coin and $1 Note and will create a stunning addition to any collection. On the obverse of the coin appears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by Raphael Maklouf.
The Coin Fair version has Continuous Reeding and a specially marked and shaped box.
